How sad is it if I say I'm used to it? Terrible things like that are just kind of my life. If I got upset about every one I'd never find time to be happy. I can't stop the world from sucking, but I can choose how I react to it.

Good, stay there. I'm gonna give you the best hug you have ever received in your life.
[ true to her word, elena blurs through camp to find vriska in the center of things, and without even saying hi, she ducks down to pull her into a tight, warm hug. it goes on for a long time before elena is willing to step back, and even then she doesn't fully let go of vriska, keeping one hand on her shoulder while the other tucks vriska's hair behind her ears. ]
I'm really glad you're okay. I was worried about you.
[ Vriska just huffs a laugh to herself and puts her blackglass away. She knows what's coming, and in fact just laughs again when she finds herself abruptly pulled into a hug. She actually hugs Elena back just as warmly, and the smile on her face is very fond as they pull apart. ]
Same to you, Elena. But seriously, it was nothing I couldn't handle! You worry too much.
No, I worry just the right amount. I am very good at worrying, I have it down to a science. It all depends on how much danger you're in, how much I care about you, it's very precise.
[ she grins, and finally steps away from vriska. looking around, she can see that there are others setting up tents, and her expression darkens. this must be where the greys are setting up camp. elena still hates the whole concept of grey team, and would even if vriska weren't on it -- how dare they even think of denying people access to medical attention, or keep them out of rovers, or any of the things they're doing to the poor people on the team? it's not right, and just the thought of it makes elena grind her teeth together.
but vriska doesn't need her anger, and hasn't seemed to particularly want it, so elena forces a smile. it's strained around the edges, but a smile nonetheless. ]
You have to set up your tent, right? Let me help you.
[ Vriska's mouth twists into a beautifully crooked grin of her own. ]
Like I said. Worrywart. Who the fuck makes worrying into a science except you, weirdo?
[ But When Elena's expression darkens, her own slides into neutral, and she waits. For Elena to make up her mind about whether or not to rant how unfair it is that she hasn't got a rover of her own. Vriska herself does not believe it is unfair, and wouldn't be up to the argument. So her shoulders lose their tension when the other girl only asks to help. ]
[ elena gives a mock gasp, shoving slightly at vriska's shoulder. ]
Excuse you, I am not a weirdo! Just because I know how to worry better than you do.
[ as vriska's shoulders loosen back up, elena's smile turns a little less strained and a little more real. she knew vriska wouldn't want to hear her rant about the injustice of grey team, but she hadn't realized that just the vague threat of such a conversation would make vriska so tense. at least vriska is letting her help with her tent set-up without putting up a fight. ]
Nah, I've already set myself up in my rover. I've done a little camping in my day, so I think I can figure this out.

Yeah, it's okay. I've done the whole hallucination thing before. At least this time they weren't trying to tell me to kill myself.

Cheater. Where in camp are you, I need to hug you.

Yeah, I know. It still sucks, though. Sorry you had to go through that.
