The thing is, I didn't understand what it was you were asking. You could tell me, and you did tell me, but I couldn't grasp its full significance because I haven't grown up in your culture.

I entered, not long ago, into an alien agreement I didn't understand. Which I still don't. Understand, I'm not saying that you would hurt me, or really equating the two. Or perhaps I am equating them.
