[ There's a tense, heavy pause on her end, before she gives a soulful, quiet hiss of: ] Fuuuuuuuuck.
[ It's a blow, though not necessarily a personal one. Vriska sort of liked Isabelle, but they were never especially close. She knows Noh-Varr was a bit, well. Closer to her, though. In his own way.
Still, the request rankles her, and she pauses again before responding to it. ]
So what, you get to go out and deal with the big bad scary whatever the fuck and you want the kids to stay home?
[ Stupid dumb. Jumping to conclusions as usual. Vriska forces herself to loosen up a bit and manages to sound at least the littlest bit contrite when she replies. ]
Right. Will do. I'll check in with you periodically as long as you promise to do the same for us.
[ A beat. ] Yes. It was hard to miss. So, you know, this isn't really fucking suspicious at all or anything! Also, have you noticed this is the second time one of our rovermates has been straight up fucking murdered?

Shrug. [ Yes. She actually says shrug. ] Who knows with the CDC! They are always up to some kind of lethal shenanigans. It wouldn't surprise me! You should know as well as I do that Annie would have been pretty tough to take down.

FROM: kirstein.jean@cdc.org Your welcome, or something.
FROM: kirstein.jean@cdc.org I'm going around with Piper. I'm not sure what there is to find, but it beats sitting around and waiting for more bodies to show up.
02 Yeah. I've 8een looking around with Hi8ari. Not that we've found anything yet. Noh-Varr was apparently one of the people who found Isa8elle's 8ody, 8ut he didn't seem to know much more than that.
03 Haha, man.
04 Our old rover has just 8een dropping off like flies.
